The Ethiopian Economic Policy Research Institute (EEPRI) is the research, training, and publication wing of the Ethiopian Economic Association (EEA), a non-profit institution. EEPRI was the first independent economic policy research institution established in Ethiopia. The Institute’s objectives include strengthening research capacity, collecting and compiling macroeconomic and sectoral data, and providing information and analysis on economic policy matters. The Institute also strives to improve the policy environment through informed public debate and enhanced public participation in policy issues.

EEA/EEPRI’s research emphasizes overall social and economic development and the alleviation of poverty in Ethiopian society. EEA/EEPRI’s combined research areas include growth, finance, trade, industrialization, agricultural development, health, education, poverty, food security, and climate change.

EEA/EEPRI collaborates with numerous Ethiopian governmental and non-governmental organizations, including ministries and regional government bureaus. It also works with the private sector, including chambers of commerce, national and international universities, multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, and bilateral development partners. EEA/EEPRI also sits on several standing and technical committees managed by governmental and non-governmental organizations.
