On 1-2 February, TTI attended the Think 20 inception workshop in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During these two days, influential high-level representatives from the government, think tanks and the business community discussed what the T20 vision and strategy should be in 2018 and beyond to address global governance challenges. After this initial meeting, the different task forces will draft recommendations for public policies on better global governance and the proposals will be submitted to the G20 presidency during the T20 summit which will be held in Buenos Aires in September 2018.

At the T20, TTI think tanks participated in the task force on Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, and sought to foster collaboration between the T20 and Southern Voice. This inception workshop was the first time that the T20 members came together face-to-face and was attended by 149 think tanks from 45 countries.

This workshop was attended by Argentinian Presidency Chief of Staff, Marcos Peña, Argentinian Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne, Argentina’s Sherpa for the G20 Pedro Villagra Delgado and by representatives from W20, the official G20 dialogue process focusing on the economic participation and empowerment of women.
