The Latin American Initiative for Public Policy Research (ILAIPP) will be hosting their second regional conference from April 5-6, 2016. This conference will see the 11 institutions supported by the Think Tank Initiative in Latin America gather in Lima, Peru around the theme of ‘Innovation and Quality in Education’.
We are pleased to announce the eight successful proposals of the most recent Opportunity Funds call. This newest round of projects will be carried out within the next three years, and covers a wide range of research topics including urbanization, municipal governance, and climate change adaptation.
The 7 institutions supported by the Think Tank Initiative will gather in Accra, Ghana from March 1-3, 2016, for the official launch of the West African Think Tank Network (WATTNet).
Building on momentum from the initial Geneva meeting, IDRC and the Graduate Institute in Geneva have agreed to frame and outline a program of support to enable Southern-based think tanks to contribute effectively to public health policy processes at national, regional and global levels. The goal is to help increase the collective capacity of think tanks, especially those located in the Global South, to make progress towards achieving the health SDGs.
This book, entitled ‘Action Research and Organizational Capacity Building: Journeys of change in southern think tanks’, resulted from a three-year action research project with five of TTI’s think tanks.
The upcoming 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (known as COP21) will take place in Paris from November 30th to December 11th. This is the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and will be a crucial conference.
From November 18-20, 2015, around 100 participants will gather in Sohna, India for the 5th Annual South Asian Regional Meeting of the Think Tank Initiative (TTI).
Congratulations to all of our successful applicants! In our last round of Opportunity Funds, we funded ten excellent applications. These exciting projects received up to $250,000 CAD in funding, and each initiative is now being undertaken by a group of institutions, led by a TTI-funded think tank.
TTI’s Phase 2 Opportunity Fund is a source of funding available to TTI supported institutions that is complementary to TTI’s core financial support. The Opportunity Fund aims to help support think tanks by adding value to the core support provided to achieve their long-term institutional objectives.
