Heather Toycen

Heather Toycen has a degree in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the University of Ottawa, and is now completing a Masters of Political Science at Carleton University. Her research interests include international relations, migration, gender, and Latin American issues. Prior to work with TTI, Heather was a teaching assistant with the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies at Carleton University, and has worked for a variety of government departments such as Employment and Social Development and Natural Resources Canada. She worked as a coop student with the Think Tank Initiative in the summer of 2018, and is now working with the Migration Health Branch at Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada.
